How we evaluate.
CompareGreenhouse compares greenhouses and garden equipment on documented facts. Every specification you see traces back to a captured listing or a manufacturer document — and when something isn't published, we say so instead of guessing.
The evidence labels.
Four states, nothing in between. Every spec on the site carries exactly one — and the label is as important as the number.
The value was captured from a product listing (including the Amazon Creators API) on the date shown. It reflects what the seller stated, not independent testing.
The value comes from a manufacturer document such as a manual or specification sheet.
We ran a documented trial. We will only use this label once a real trial with published methods has taken place.
The manufacturer does not state this specification. It stays unknown — never a guess, a zero, or a hidden "verified" badge.
How are products ranked?
Editor's picks are ordered by stored editorial scores, descending. These are subjective editorial judgments, not laboratory measurements, customer ratings or a weighted engineering formula. No published reproducible scoring rubric currently supports the decimal scores; do not treat a small score difference as measured superiority.
The comparison workbench instead shows documentation coverage: populated specification rows divided by all displayed specification rows. Missing values stay unknown. Documentation coverage measures data completeness, not product quality. Price and commission do not enter that calculation.
Manufacturer manuals take priority over retailer listings when the exact model and field match. Conflicting claims need review; the original source records are retained rather than silently overwritten. This site has not conducted hands-on product testing.

Catalog admission
Products enter only with a captured source record for the United States marketplace. Anything irrelevant to growing — for example a decorative craft kit — is excluded from growing-structure recommendations rather than padded into the catalog. When availability or data freshness can't be verified, the product is held back rather than shown with invented values.
Editorial independence
Recommendations, ordering and filtering are based on documented fit for your space, climate and budget. Commission rates play no role in what we recommend or how products are ordered. Where we don't yet have enough evidence to recommend anything, we say that instead of filling the gap.
